This install applies to "East vs. West: Berlin 1948" © 1990 Rainbow Arts.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
This program can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem.
(+1.8 MB for preload and Kickstart ROM)
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- Load/Save supported
- 2 versions supported (english, german)
- Access faults fixed (x2, $df009a->$dff09a)
- Blitter waits added (x4, skipped on 68000)
- Blitter waits can be forced on 68000 machines with CUSTOM2
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x2)
- Intro can be skipped with CUSTOM1
- Manual included
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
'Love it or hate it' game here as it is rather strange. I kinda like
it though, might have to do with the fact that I'm a Berliner. :)
The game did only run from disk as it used direct disk access, this is
now fixed of course. Code is OK (game has been programmed in C) but
there were some access faults due to wrong hardware register access.
Due to lack of blitter waits the game had graphics errors on anything
else than a plain 68000. The needed blitter waits are only added
on machines with >68000 CPU, to force the patches even on 68000
machines you can use the CUSTOM2 tooltype.
I have also added an option to skip the intro, the game allows that
too but it still loads the intro data and displays the Time Warp
screen which is why I have added this option. If you use it, all intro
stuff will be skipped and the game will be loaded without any delays.
Please note that there was an audio tape included with the game which
you are supposed to listen to while the intro is running. Without
this tape the game is completely silent.
That about wraps it up, enjoy the game from HD.
