This install applies to "Megademo" © 1989 Vision.

 Requirements:
 -------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.

The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.7 MB for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").

 Features:
 ---------
 - Full load from HD (real files!)
 - All OS stuff patched
 - Decruncher (ByteKiller) relocated to fast memory and error check added (x7)
 - Hardware register setup/restore recoded
 - Self-modifying code fixed
 - DMA wait in replayer fixed (x7)
 - Byte write to volume register in replayer fixed (x5)
 - Access faults ($5dff058->$dff058) fixed (x2)
 - Timing fixed
 - Reset part can be enabled with CUSTOM1
 - CPU dependent delay loops fixed
 - Interrupts fixed
 - NewIcon (created by me)
 - Source code included as usual
 - Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')

And yet another patch for a classic demo is finished. I started this
4 years ago in August 2009 shortly after I patched Vision's Megademo 2
and then somehow forgot about it. Yesterday I restarted the work on the
patch and ended up completely recoding it. I also coded a RawDIC imager
for it as it now uses real files, back then I used a disk image.

The code had a few problems, there were some CPU dependent delay loops
used for timing, some parts used self-modifying code and 2 of the parts
caused an access fault because of a typo, instead of $dff058 $5dff058
was used, no problem on 68000 machines but on true 32 bit machines this
will not work anymore of course. Vision's second Megademo also has this
problem. In some parts direct ROM access was used to acknowledge the
interrupts, same problem as in Megademo 2 again. Most of the parts
used a level 6 interrupt, since this caused problems for whatever reason
I changed the level 6 interrupts to normal vertical blank interrupts.
What else to say? It's quite a classic demo and I still enjoy the parts,
the code isn't that advanced but there are some nice graphics (specially
 logos) and effects so enjoy!

The reset part is supported, to enable it use the CUSTOM1 tooltype.

The demo can be downloaded here:
 ftp://ftp.amigascne.org/pub/amiga/Groups/V/Vision/VISION-Megademo.dms

Enjoy another classic demo from HD and have a nice summer everyone.
